Drip Irrigation and Drip Conversion

Drip irrigation delivers water slowly and directly to plant roots, maintaining optimal moisture levels. Automations of Manual Systems

Upgrading a manual sprinkler system to an automated one will save you time, money, and improve plant health. Modern smart controllers like soil moisture sensors adjust watering based on weather and plant needs, reducing the risk of overwatering.3 Automation also reduces the chance of neglecting specific areas of the yard.

Sprinkler Winterization

In Utah & Arizona, temperatures can occasionally drop below freezing. Without proper winterization, water left in sprinkler lines will expand and crack pipes or sprinkler heads. Professional sprinkler winterization involves safely draining the system and using compressed air to prevent freeze damage during the off-season.

Frequently Asked Questions

If your system isn’t activating, first check the controller programming to see if the schedule is set correctly and the unit is powered. Verify that the connection to the main power source or circuit breaker is working. If those checks don’t restore operation, it’s best to call Hot Shot Sprinkler Repair & Landscape for a full inspection and professional diagnosis.

When some sprinkler heads stay down while others operate normally, the issue often lies with individual valve faults, clogged head mechanisms, or insufficient water pressure. Debris blocking the riser or worn parts are common causes. With our sprinkler repair service, we evaluate each head and zone, replace or clean parts as needed, and ensure proper water flow.

If your sprinkler heads are not rotating or spraying water as they should, it may be due to clogs, worn-out nozzles or misaligned heads. Cleaning or replacing the nozzles, adjusting the arc or radius, and ensuring proper alignment can often solve the issue. For a comprehensive evaluation and precise adjustments, rely on the expertise of Hot Shot Sprinkler Repair & Landscape.

Low pressure can stem from blocked filters, damaged pipes, valve issues, or problems at the water source. Begin by cleaning any filters or screens, and evaluate the pressure difference afterward. If pressure remains low, you should contact a professional to inspect the lines, evaluate the valve performance, and confirm the water supply is adequate for the sprinkler operation.

Leaks or broken pipes cause wasted water, uneven irrigation, and high bills. If you notice soggy spots, unexplained water usage, or visible pooled water, contact us today so we can locate and repair leaks, replace damaged lines, and ensure proper water distribution throughout your sprinkler system.

For residential sprinkler systems, it’s recommended to schedule a professional inspection every 6-12 months.1 With larger landscapes, heavier usage, and more complex zoning, commercial sprinkler systems benefit from checks every 3–6 months, with additional inspections before the high-use season. Regular maintenance keeps your system efficient, prevents issues from escalating, and helps extend its working life.

Hear From Our Customers

  • Larry Jones
They found the problem with the sprinkler valve and fixed it that day as well as checking the entire system while they were there.
  • Bob Kaufman
Hot Shot Sprinkler's employees arrived on time, completed a messy project as promised, and stuck to their price even when it (seemed to?) take considerably longer than they'd anticipated. They walked me through the work they'd done and cleaned up a large, deep hole they needed to dig, leaving barely a trace of the hole.
  • Dan Lee
Daniel and D’Angelo did a great job of fixing my sprinkler system. I even had a problem with a foreign object that had fallen down into my stop and waste valve and Daniel used a really innovative approach to get it out when a vacuum wouldn’t work. They really made sure to take care of my sprinkler system.
  • Kristine Sadler
    Great service all the time
  • Sarah Farnsworth
We've been in our new house and this is our first spring/summer with this sprinkler system. We had a broken back flow preventer, and purchased a new one but were hesitant to install it. We called yesterday and they came this morning. Two techs came out, Alexis and Eric, who have been amazing! They did the work quickly and when we asked were able to check the sprinkler system (which had not been part of the inital request for service). All in all it was about 2 hours worth of work and parts for the new nozzels and repairing some drip irrigations leaks. I am so impressed with their professionalism and efficiency. Thank you both!
  • Richard Galbraith
    Great work, fast!
  • Chris Young
Adrian and Alfredo were professional, friendly and fast. Explained what they were fixing and why.

Update (5/20/26): I’ve used Hot Shots twice a year since 2023, and the employees who come to my home have always been professional, courteous, and reliable. The actual service work has consistently been good. This year, however, I was unexpectedly charged 40 days after the service was completed. When I called, I was told their accounting system had recently been updated and they were “cleaning things up.” While I understand system changes happen, charging customers more than a month later without warning isn’t a great experience — especially after receiving a $0 due invoice on the day of service, which indicated the balance had already been paid. To be clear, I did owe the balance and had no issue paying it. My concern was that the charge should have been processed on the day of service or clearly communicated in advance. The company has since reached out and apologized for the experience, which I genuinely appreciated. The service itself has always been solid, and I’m hopeful this was simply a one-time billing issue.
  • Ritchie Miller
They solved my problem efficiently. Thank you.
  • John Hiskey
The repairmen were courteous and professional. They turned on our sprinkling system and reviewed each of the sprinklers and made adjustments where needed.
  • Carlos Osuna
Francisco and Josh came to assess some dead zones in my sprinkler system. They were able to do a comprehensive assessment with a fix which was easily explained to me. Very friendly and professional experience. Sprinklers have been running great since.
  • David R
Work was quick, competent, and reasonably priced. I’d call them again in a heartbeat…

  • John Carter
This is the 2nd time Hot Shot has done pipe and valve repair for me. Francisco is delightful to work with and I trust him to know just what to do for me. Nothing is cheap anymore, but he again wasted no time fixing what was broken.
  • Chick Little
The whole experience was really good. They were able to come in 2 days. They were here for just over 2 hours. I was a little surprised by the total cost, but my philosophy is sometimes you have to pay a little bit more for a quality product. (And it is usually worth it.)
  • chad hammond
